I have now released the results of my Northampton NHS Inquiry. More than 850 people from across the town participated, so I'd like to thank everyone who took the time to put forward their views. Despite feedback being satisfactory in some areas, the full results paint a very worrying picture of our local NHS. The Health Service remains a huge issue for many people in the town and I've included some of the results below: · 95% wanted decisions about local health services to be taken locally, with less interference from Central Government. · 78% were unhappy about how the current government have handled the NHS · 25% of patients have to wait longer than 3 months for a hospital appointment after being referred by their GP. · 40% were still not happy about levels of cleanliness and the threat of superbugs despite improvements to the cleanliness of the General Hospital I will be discussing the findings with Shadow Lib Dem Health Secretary Norman Lamb when he visits Northampton in July and I will continue to keep you updated with campaigns and issues in our area. You can view the full results of the survey online by clicking on the link: Northampton NHS Inquiry Survey Results or by visiting my website www.andrew-simpson.org.uk
With best wishes
